Capturing the Magic of Motherhood: Motherhood Minis
As a family photographer, I both love and not love minis. They are offerings that I do a couple times a year - Motherhood and Holidays are two givens. It feels daughting to cram a session into 15 minutes let alone keep everything on time to see the families after the family I have in front of me. But it is such a good opporunity to get updated photos without committing to a full hour. I feel as if it’s not enough time to get to know my family in front of me and really connect, thankfully the majority of my families have been in front of my camera before. Side note: previous clients always get first dibs on mini session bookings, but I do always announce mini session opportunities on my instagram and Facebook.
My mamas this year brought the business. As I was editing each session, I just fell in love with each and every photograph. The sterotype is true - we are always behind the camera. The hilarious videos showing the differences between the photos that mom takes of her partner and their children together but when the reserve is shown, it’s usually unflattering angles, messy hair, and who knows if mom was wearing a bra. Years from now, when we’re grown and our children are having children and families of their own, they’ll want to see photos of them with their mom. You’ll want to see photos of you with them. It’s science. It’s a known fact. No question about it.
So here I am, sharing a few from each mini session that I’m just obsessed with. Let’s see if I can get my silly boys in front of the camera with me before tomorrow.
